Blade, shaft, and handle are all fabricated using Bio-Resin.
Originally designed for smaller paddlers, but now loved by all, Blackfish Paddles created the Salish blade with a subtle scoop, vertical sides, square shoulders, and a forgiving yet solid catch. The Salish carbon fibre paddle is a wonderfully light, hybrid design that combines a high aspect shape with a teardrop into a 460cm2 blade size. Translated into layman’s terms, that’s a smaller blade for less fatigue and higher cadence with a surprising amount of power.
This model carrier by Translucid Adventures in Jasper, features a 26mm adjustable shaft which is narrower than the standard diameter of many SUP paddle shafts. This smaller shaft diameter can make for a more comfortable grip especially for longer paddles. This is one of our instructor’s current favourite blade shape for maintaining comfortable hands and shoulders on long paddles down Medicine Lake.
