Alisen is the creative entrepreneur behind Translucid Adventures. Due to the realities of chronic illness, she traded her former life as a wedding photographer for workdays filled with movement supported by an amazing team of sensitive, passionate, outdoor loving staff. She launched this little SUP school in 2015 after stand up paddling became her medicine for moving through difficult times and now she aims to mentor other

As a SUP Yoga instructor, she leads openhearted, explorations of breath and movement that support joint health, encourage play, and foster mindful self discovery. Her yoga teaching style combines physical strength building vinyasa-hatha posture sequences with mental-emotional resilience techniques in a nurturing atmosphere. As a recovering perfectionist, she knows the profound importance of building a practice of rest to nurture contentment and joy. Paddling, hiking, swimming, yoga, meditation, mat pilates, physiotherapy and dance are all components in her continuous pursuit of healing, healthful movement against the repercussions of an inflammatory autoimmune disease that is considered a dynamic disability.
